Master Grazier Awards
This award recognizes those who have outstanding grazing operations in the state of Illinois and who work diligently to promote the grazing industry through their production skills and activities.

Nominate a Master Grazier
Candidates may be nominated by anyone, including the nominee. Two letters of support must accompany this application. Nominations are due February 1 each year.

Candidates must graze in Illinois and the grazing enterprise must be a significant part of the total operation.
Nominees must have been active in the grazing industry for at least 10 years.
Candidates may be individuals, couples, or siblings and judging will be equally weighted.
Successful nominees must be recognized leaders in the industry and have given back to the industry in a significant manner.
Nominees must be actively engaged in a grazing operation.
Members of the ILGLC Board are not eligible.
Nominees may include posthumous candidates.

Nominations are due February 1st each year.
All financial information remains confidential.
Candidates may be nominated by anyone including the nominee.
Two letters of support should accompany each nomination along with the completed nomination form (Master Grazier Award Nomination).
The Judging Committee may select awardees without the above requirements. The Committee may also select an Honorary Master Grazier who does not actively graze or meet other eligibility requirements stated above.

The President of ILGLC appoints a selection committee each year to select 3 deserving honorees.
Selection committee will be comprised of Illinois grazing leaders including past winners, ILGLC Board personnel, and NRCS, university, or extension personnel.
The ILGLC Executive Committee shall screen the selection committee honorees to ascertain valid eligibility.

Awardees will be recognized and awarded a plaque at the ILGLC Annual Grazing Conference. Photos and a press release will be circulated on the ILGLC website and Facebook page, as well as appropriate agricultural and grazing media.
